Name: Jay Johnson
Rank: Msgt., USA (ret)
Experience: 20 years

Jay Johnson is a man of intense focus, desire, drive, and energy. With more than 20 years of hard-core military and fitness training and experience wrapped into a taut, shredded physique, Jay is one of the nation’s foremost leaders in fitness and motivation. Using the same no-nonsense approach he applies to his life, Jay brings a streamlined and common-sense philosophy to fitness training for all levels of fitness. From professional athletes to weekend warriors and corporate clients, Jay uses his unique motivational techniques to help people attain the highest level of fitness they are capable of achieving. You won’t find trendy Zen and New Age motivation tools or tricks at one of Jay’s boot camp sessions. What you’ll find is a man who motivates the old fashioned way. He pushes. Hard.

Founding his company, Boot Camp Fitness, Inc., in 2001 on the principles of faith and character that he lives by, Jay has developed a large and fiercely loyal following of fitness buffs, as well as beginners. Jay honed his chosen profession while serving 20 years as a combat infantryman training and being trained for the chaotic mental and physical rigors of combat, carrying a 80-pound rucksack through mountains and deserts, motivating today’s military leaders to jump out of perfectly safe airplanes, passing on battle tactics and strategies to our Nations terrorist hunters.  Jay is uniquely qualified in the area of motivation and physical fitness. Oh, yeah. Did we mention he was also a U.S. Army Boot Camp Drill Instructor for three years?

Boot Camp Fitness has helped open doors for Jay that only a few years ago would have been closed and locked. He has been featured in Muscle and Fitness magazine, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Wife Swap, Bloomberg News, ABC’s Evening News, Judge Hachett, HBO’s Hard Knocks, CMT’s Making of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders I,II, and many others. He is also a featured monthly fitness contributor to WFAA-TV 8’s (Dallas ABC Affiliate) Good Morning Texas. All that thanks to the success of the fitness business he and his wife, Lin, started out of their home just five years ago.

If that wasn't enough to keep the man busy, he also has one of the Top 50 Best Jobs in the Nation, according to the October 2005 edition of Men's Journal: Jay is the Official Fitness Trainer of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.

As a fitness consultant, Jay is upbeat, positive and encouraging. He customizes each fitness program based upon his clients’ individual needs and objectives.  No two workouts are ever the same and he keeps it interesting, challenging, and fun. Jay has been training in the Dallas area for nearly four years and has more than 9,000 references and testimonies that speak to his program’s effectiveness.

Jay and his family are Christ followers and he is a dedicated husband, father, soldier, and entrepreneur.
