Get as much out of it as you want

I never write reviews, but have been SO impressed and excited about Jay’s Boot Camp since the day I started that I couldn’t resist.  The first week of boot camp all I wanted to do was NOT be the person that passed out (there were 2 in the first class, both of which were more fit than me.)

Before January 5th, the last time I did any real workout, besides running the bases in softball, was October of 2007! My friend Amber started boot camp last year and I remember how she gushed about it so much when I thought nothing sounded more miserable. After literally seeing her transform before my eyes, I was sold.

In 5 weeks, I have:
Lost 2% body fat
Gone from 0 push-ups in 2 minutes to 63
Gone from 10 hurl-my-arms-toward-my-feet sit-ups in 2 minutes to 40 legit sit-ups
Run 1 mile in 9:42 where I couldn’t do 4 laps around a basketball court without walking

I tell people you get as much out of it as you want. Personal training? Sure, if you just stay after, talk to the trainers and send emails, they’re MORE than willing to give you individual attention and ideas. AJ (my favorite) even sends out newsletters that set your expectations for body, metabolism and motivation changes throughout the session. VERY encouraging for me when I hit the 3-week slump.

And, how many gyms write you when you miss a few days in a row, or offer to work with you on the fees when you’re running behind on your monthly dues? Jay and Lin are all about accountability and long-term lifestyle change. Sure, you can do the same things in the class on your own and without any equipment….but will you? Not likely. You’re paying for so much more than the trainers. The group motivation and “battle buddies” are the key factors for success, and worth every penny.
